Went for Global Peace Festival (GPF) on 19October2008. It was a very meaningful event as people from different races and countries got together to celebrate the peace festival. Here are some pictures:
It have been 2 weeks after the International University Student Assembly (IUSA) and Global Peace Festival (GPF) Malaysia but there are still things that I couldn't forget. How I met with all the international students, how I get to know them, how I communicate with them, how I joined the traditional performances, how I tell them about Malaysia, how we did the Service for Peace and Unity, etc.
Esteemed dignitaries, family, friends, ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Global Peace Festival in beautiful Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

It is a great honor and pleasure to be with you today to celebrate a vision of everlasting peace. Your being here this evening in such numbers is a clear sign that the Global Peace Festival is indeed bringing a new breath of hope to a world yearning for an end to the cycle of war, conflict and poverty!
“Space has definitely changed my view on life,” Malaysian astronaut Datuk Dr. Sheikh Muszaphar Skukor told the packed and attentive audience at Kuala Lumpur’s Bukit Jalil stadium at the Global Peace Festival Malaysia on October 19. “When I was in space, I felt very sad,” he said. “I saw how small, how perfect our planet really is, and then I reflected on all the conflict and suffering we cause each other. I started to be more concerned about the suffering of women and children, and I decided I had to do something about it.”
This is the phrase which I will remember for the rest of my life. I took part in the Global Peace Festival 2008, which begins on 17th of Oct-19th of Oct. For the past 19 years, I will say that this is one of the events which have really touched my soul deeply.

The Global Peace Festival is held every 2 years bringing together activists, NGO's and other organization or institutions that share a common vision for peace, and who wish to assist the United Nations in achieving their Millennium Development Goals. This festival is a platform from which they can all share their ideas and endeavours, and create the opportunity to celebrate their achievements, develop partnerships and launch new initiatives together.
How you can join us?
Partnerships The Global Peace festival is all about partners supporting and learning from each other. You or your organisation can either make partnerships with the working groups or just simply because you want to support or endorse the GPF project.
Sponsorships Monetary sponsorship as well as sponsorship in kind e.g. facilitating a venue or service for projects organised by working groups.
