Global Peace Festival Celebrates the Holiday of Holidays in Haifa

Haifa, Israel - On December 20, 2008, the Global Peace Festival was celebrated in Haifa, Israel, as part of that city’s annual December celebrations. The diverse crowd was composed of Jews, Muslims, Christians, and Druze from Haifa and all around the country.
Honiara, Solomon Islands - “Under the motto of One Family under God, everyone can learn to live in harmony,” according to the chair of the Global Peace Festival-Solomon Islands, Hon. Augustine Taneko, a Member of Parliament.
Religious and political leaders from various nations yesterday shared the limelight in front of thousands of people at the Quirino Grandstand in Manila in a show of unity and symbolic breaking of cultural barriers to become "one big family under God" during the Global Peace Festival.

Amidst the ceaseless struggle between the government and the radical terrorist groups in Mindanao, a new hope for peace is dawning in this "Promised Land," as it is often called.
Brasilia, Brazil - With more than 20,000 noisy Brazilians of all ages filling the Nelson Nilson stadium with noise and enthusiasm, Bishop Manoel Ferreira, the tireless chairman and promoter of the Global Peace Festival (GPF) held in Brasilia last weekend could perhaps at last afford himself a quiet smile of satisfaction.
Manila (December 10) -- The country will play host to the International Leadership Conference (ILC) as part of Global Peace Festival 2008 which will open tomorrow, December 11 and will run until December 14 at the Manila Hotel, Manila.
The Global Peace Festival is held every 2 years bringing together activists, NGO's and other organization or institutions that share a common vision for peace, and who wish to assist the United Nations in achieving their Millennium Development Goals. This festival is a platform from which they can all share their ideas and endeavours, and create the opportunity to celebrate their achievements, develop partnerships and launch new initiatives together.

Partnerships The Global Peace festival is all about partners supporting and learning from each other. You or your organisation can either make partnerships with the working groups or just simply because you want to support or endorse the GPF project.
