The Human and Nature Development Society (HANDS) have started planting Trees on an annual basis since 2000.This year it is being done on a much larger scale in co-operation with the Majlis Perbandaran Subang Jaya at the MPSJ premises ( Kompleks Sukan MPSJ ) last 08 August 2008. The Tree Planting is one of the Global Peace Festival 2008’s ongoing programs, leading up to the main GPF Event on the 17-19 October at the Stadium Putra Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur.

HANDS started this Tree Planting Project with a view to enhancing interracial and inter-faith understanding and harmony among the various communities in Malaysia.

Beginning with assistance to Tsunami victims in 2005, HANDS has continued to help the needy and provide counseling services to all who sought help especially teenagers and single mothers.

We trust that Malaysia’s example in greening our country will encourage duplication by other countries in the very near future.

Also the 7th UN Millennium Development Goals is to Ensure Environment Sustainability – www.un.org/millenniumgoals. So let us all come together to make sure it stays that way for the sake of our future generations who have so generously loaned to us the use of their environment.

Remember we are the ancestors of the future; we are called here to act for our children; and our children’s children.

What is GPF?

The Global Peace Festival is held every 2 years bringing together activists, NGO's and other organization or institutions that share a common vision for peace, and who wish to assist the United Nations in achieving their Millennium Development Goals. This festival is a platform from which they can all share their ideas and endeavours, and create the opportunity to celebrate their achievements, develop partnerships and launch new initiatives together.

How you can join us?
