Dear Tan Sri / Puan Sri / Dato' / Datin / Ambassadors for Peace & friends,

Greetings of peace. I hope this email find you in good health. Thank you for your continuous effort in promoting peace.

It gives us great pleasure and honour to inform your goodselves that Malaysia has been selected as the host for the Global Peace Festival (GPF) 2008, to be held on 17-19 October at Bukit Jalil Putra Stadium.

The other 13 nations include countries such as United States of America, United Kingdom, Paraguay, Kenya, Korea, Japan etc. The festival promotes a vision of world peace through service to others, interreligious harmony and strong, healthy family. The festival will bring together all people as members of one global family, irrespective of race, religion, nationality and culture.

Last year, when Philippines hosted the Global Peace Festival, it drew a crowd of more than 20,000. This year in Malaysia, we are targeting 30,000 participants from local and abroad. The celebration, which will begin from 17 October 2008, consists of several components: an international leadership conference, a social impact service program, global peace carnival and a public festival. This celebration will be the biggest Peace Festival of the year!

With the tagline - 'Let's Make Malaysia the World Capital of Peace', GPF Malaysia will bring together government agencies, NGOs, educational institutions, private sector and individuals who share a common vision for peace to showcase the best of multi-cultural Malaysia to the world.

As an effort to engage individuals, organizations and all Ambassadors for Peace in Malaysia, we are going to hold an Ambassadors for Peace Luncheon Reception as below:

Date: 24 August 2008 (Sunday)
Venue: Royal Selangor Club (Dataran Merdeka)
Time: 12pm - 3pm

We will introduce everyone on the Ambassador for Peace and Global Peace Festival 2008 so that everyone can be part of this meaningful endeavor. You may also invite your friends whom you think may be interested to be part of this peace initiative.

What is GPF?

The Global Peace Festival is held every 2 years bringing together activists, NGO's and other organization or institutions that share a common vision for peace, and who wish to assist the United Nations in achieving their Millennium Development Goals. This festival is a platform from which they can all share their ideas and endeavours, and create the opportunity to celebrate their achievements, develop partnerships and launch new initiatives together.

How you can join us?

Partnerships
The Global Peace festival is all about partners supporting and learning from each other. You or your organisation can either make partnerships with the working groups or just simply because you want to support or endorse the GPF project.

Sponsorships
Monetary sponsorship as well as sponsorship in kind e.g. facilitating a venue or service for projects organised by working groups.
